A VietJet flight en route to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam (SGN/VVTS) from Melbourne, Australia (MEL/YMML), had to return to Melbourne Airport due to an issue onboard. Flight VJ82 left Melbourne Airport around 2:55 am from runway 34 and ascended to flight level 350. Approximately one hour and forty minutes later, near the South Australia/Northern Territory border, the aircraft reversed course towards Melbourne. During its return, the aircraft executed twelve fifteen-minute circuits before proceeding back to Melbourne. The Airbus A330 eventually landed in Melbourne, six hours and forty minutes behind schedule, at roughly 9:30 am. No emergency services were required.
