Passengers injured on Qantaslink flight

QANTASLINK DeHAVILLAND DASH 8 Q400 VH-LQB (MSN 4376)


Two people have been hospitalised and five others injured after a QantasLink flight experienced severe turbulence. On Wednesday, QF2376 from Brisbane (BNE/YBBN) to Hervey Bay (HVB/YBHA), was forced to turn back twenty minutes into the thirty-five-minute flight.

The aircraft taxied out at 12.28pm (local) and taxied for runway 01L. At 12.39 it got airborne and climbed to flight level 160. At 1.00pm the aircraft made 2 five-minute holding patterns before returning to Brisbane. 


The aircraft landed normally on runway 01L at 1.36pm and was met by emergency services to assist with injured passengers,

“One cabin crew and one passenger have been taken to hospital with injuries from the turbulence,” the spokesperson said.

“Five customers and crew were treated at the airport for minor injuries.”
