Cambridge Aerodrome (ICAO: YCBG) is a minor airport located in Cambridge, a suburb south of Hobart. It is located only a few kilometres from the primary airport, Hobart International Airport.
Hobart airport and Cambridge airport are unique in Australia because of the geographic proximity to each other. Nowhere else in Australia is there a primary and secondary aerodrome located within 2 nautical miles of each other. The location of the two aerodromes creates challenges in modelling due to the complexities of a dual aerodrome airspace configuration.
In July 1934 the federal government compulsorily acquired 190 acres (77 ha) of land from a local farmer to establish an aerodrome on the current site. It served as Hobart's main airport until the International Airport was opened in 1956. Today it is the base of the charter airline, Par Avion, which specialises in day trips and scenic flights around Hobart and the South West Wilderness of Tasmania. It is also the home for Airlines of Tasmania, the Aero club of Southern Tasmania as well as Heli Resources, a Helicopter Company focusing on aerial work and flights in Antarctica.
The airport is 20 metres (67 feet) AMSL and has three asphalt runways.

After visiting Cambridge Airport I called into Hobart airport for about 20 minutes until the weather closed, but it did give us a beautiful double rainbow stretching over the airport before it closed in.
