After four days in Hobart visiting family and friends it was time to head home to Brisbane via Melbourne to my family. My Virgin Australia flight was leaving at 10.10am and boarding was going to be at 9.50 so I got to the airport just after 9.00am. We began boarding through gate 2 at 9.45 and I took my seat which was 5A. The aircraft for this flight was VH-YFY (CN 41016) and since the aircraft was brand new, this was the first time I had been on it. The last cabin door was closed at 10.10am and we began taxiing at 10.13am.

We taxied out for runway 30 and after backtracking we turned and commenced rolling, getting airborne at 10.21.
We maintained runway heading for some time before banking left and over flying the city of Launceston and then the coast of Tasmania.
We continued that track while we climbed to 360, we tracked for Wonthaggi and then flew north of the airport before banking right and headed back towards the airport. We began our descent at 10.57am and landed from the north on runway 16 at 11.19.
