We began boarding at 5.08pm and I took my seat which was 28A. The doors were closed at 5.21 and we pushed back at 5.22. We taxied at 5.25pm and we taxied out to the furthest point of the airport; runway 34R.
As we approached the holding point we continued out onto the runway and we had a rolling start becoming airborne at 5.39pm. As we departed we banked slightly right and flew towards the city of Sydney offering spectacular views...until we flew into clouds and ruined any further photo opportunities.
Our track took us out over the ocean and we then flew over Newcastle, over Grafton and then the Gold Coast. We climbed to Flt Lvl 370 and the flight was very smooth. We began our descent at 6.19 and after flying abeam the airport we landed from the north on runway 19 at 6.38pm. Due to Queensland not having daylight savings we had to wind our clocks back and hour so our official arrival time 5.38pm.
