Sunday Special

I headed out to the airport early today as the regular Korean Air Airbus A330 was being replaced by a Boeing 777-300 and it was in a special livery. The 777 will make 4 trips here over the next 7 days, (6th, 8th, 10th and 12th).  Not only was the Korean Air in a special livery so was China Southern and China Airlines. Then we had a few local aircraft in special livery come and go making today a very "special livery Sunday".

The first one was a China Southern A330 decked out in the "Sky Team" livery. Brisbane gets this aircraft every second day it seems, as it is a very regular visitor here.

Next special livery was the Korean Air's B777-3B5 ER and it was decked out in the "LOVE" theme, this is the first time HL-8216 has been in Brisbane.

The next one out was Qantas Links 717 in the 'Discover Tasmanian' livery and the name of this aircraft is The Tassie devil.

Then if that wasn't enough another special livery in Qantas taxied out for departure, this time it was the aboriginal themed XZJ named Mendoowoorrji

It wasn't long before the next special livery showed up and it was another Qantas; this time it was their latest B737 in the 1970's retro colour scheme.

Not wanting to miss out on the action China Airlines brought in their A330 today in the 'Cloud Gate Dance Theatre' theme. China Airlines were bringing in their 747-400 up until 29th Feb but have now changed back to the regular A330

Coolangatta Airport on the Gold Coast didn't miss out today either as they too had two special liveries themselves; one in the form of Scoot's 787 '50th Birthday'

and Air Asia X's A330 Phoenix.

As I was writing this I discovered the Scoot 787 had to turn back to the Gold Coast due to broken toilets. It since departed again some 6 hours after its first departure.
