Only days after the airline’s inaugural flight to Sydney, Qatar are talking about upgrading their aircraft from a B777 to a A380.
QR 908, a Boeing 777-300ER A7-BAO (CN 36011) landed in Sydney on Wednesday evening, with the aircraft receiving an a water canon salute after touching down just after 1800 local time. The aircraft flew over the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House before landing in Sydney. Qatar Airways expects to bring its flagship Airbus A380 to Sydney from June this year as part of a seasonal boost to its newly-introduced Sydney-Doha flights.
The airline's Sydney-Doha flights are "fully booked", and there is the possible extention of its Australian network to another destination – most likely Brisbane – "in the not-too-distant future."
