Gold Coast (Coolangatta) Airport

This morning when I woke around 5 am, as I do every day, I grabbed my iPad and checked for aircraft alerts that I have set to see if any are coming to Brisbane or the Gold Coast. I was very pleasantly surprised to see that Scoot in their "Happy 50th Birthday Singapore" livery was coming to Cooly and finally I was in a position where I could go down and see it. Then I also noticed (as a bonus) the Air Asia X that was coming in after it was also in a special livery and that was the "Visit Malaysia" livery.

So at 6 am, while my wife and children slept, I headed off for the 1 hour drive south to Coolangatta or Cooly as it is also know as to get this l-o-n-g awaited aircraft.
