A weekend in Brisbane

We have a special guest staying with us in the form of an exchange student from Taiwan.
The school our girls go to take in exchange students every year and this one is our 3rd student in 5 years. Tiffany is her name, she is 15 and she is from Kaohsiung.

Yesterday Tiffany, all the students from Taiwan and their class buddies ( i.e. Our daughter) went to Dreamworld for the day, an adventure park on the way to the Gold Coast. When they got back from there last night we picked them up from school and went straight into the Gabba (our Australian Rules Football Oval) to show Tiffany an "Aussie rules" game. The Brisbane Lions were playing a team from Victoria called Carlton Blues; Carlton is the team my daughters and I follow and Brisbane Lions is the team my wife follows... Unfortunately our team lost.

Today we took Tiffany into Southbank, a very popular tourist attraction where they have parklands, picnic area's, a man made beach and of course markets every weekend. After wondering around and buying a few gifts we jumped on a city cat and went on a river cruise up and down the river.

After that we went on The Wheel of Brisbane (a Ferris Wheel) to show Tiffany the sights of Brisbane from up above; then we went sight seeing calling on places like Kangaroo Point and Mount Coo-tha.
