Yesterday morning we woke up in Rotorua to an amazing sunrise, the last few days have been extremely overcast and in some instances heavy rain, so it was lovely to see blue sky's and sun.
We checked out of the hotel and after breakfast continued looking around. We could see steam coming from the water front so we went down to investigate. We found steam coming up from the ground through the sand and even found bubbling pot holes.
We then continued driving around and came across their botanical gardens and museum.
After looking around there for a while we headed off to a place in town called Te Puia, it's a Natural Thermal Valley and it is here where the mud baths and the famous Kiwi birds are found.
Our guide put 2 dozen eggs into the hole and after telling us a story and teaching us a quick song she pulled the eggs out and we ate them.
It was now after midday so we had to hit the road for our 3 hour drive back to Auckland.
As we had to pass the airport we called in for about an hour.
