Alliance Airlines 100 RAAF Centenary Livery

There is a saying my mother would always say "Everything comes to those who wait" well today that quote came true for me. Back in March an Alliance Airlines Embraer E190 dressed in the 100th RAAF Centenary Livery came to Brisbane. It was here for about 6 weeks then in mid May left on a wet lease to Qantas. Since leaving Brisbane the aircraft does the Darwin - Alice Springs - Adelaide - Alice Springs - Darwin run. I never got to see it back then, and even though it was in Brisbane for a few days at the start of this month, heavy traffic stopped me from getting to the airport in time to get the departure. Well this morning I got a message from a friend to say the aircraft is coming in again today from Darwin, it will be on the ground for 50 minutes then will depart back to Darwin. I was off today so I went out to the airport early and after waiting 8 months I finally got to see it.

Rainy day at Brisbane Airport

Having the day off yesterday, and suffering from aviation withdrawal symptoms, I thought I would head out to the airport early and spend a few hours out there. Leaving home at 5.40am the weather was fine. I dropped my daughter at work and made way for the airport, unfortunately the closer I got to the airport the worse the weather got. As soon as I got there the heavens opened up and it bucketed down, apart from the occasional 15 minute breaks, the rain didn't give up for the four hours I was there.

Monday, 1 November 2021

Time for a break, so goodbye for now.

During the last 12 -18 months since Covid hit I have tried in vain to keep this blog interesting.
Since I wasn't traveling for work and most of the internationals had stopped coming in, well during the day anyway, i haven't had the opportunity to post many pictures. I have been out to the airport on many occasions hoping for something special or unusual to come in, as I'm sure you don't want to see the same three major airlines we have over and over.

This blog has gone global with the USA being my biggest audience followed closely by Australia.  Then in % order

Russia
Ukraine
Germany
Turkmenistan
France
Sweden
United Kingdom
New Zealand
South Korea
Canada
Hong Kong
Indonesia
Netherlands
Singapore
China
Romania

I have noticed for the last few weeks now the global viewing numbers per day have been dropping and are now down to single digits per story.
This is heart breaking to see.
I had considered closing the blog completely but I have, disappointingly, for now anyway decided to just park it and re look at it again over Christmas.

If you are reading this I want to say "Thank You" so much for your support.
Hopefully when the world's travel picks up, I'll be back.

Regards
Brendan
