Qantas introduces new direct flights connecting Perth with Johannesburg and Auckland.

A few days ago, Qantas launched a direct service between Perth Airport (PER/YPPH) and Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International Airport (JNB/FAOR).

The announcement, made on the 5th of December 2025, also coincided with the Australian flag carrier inaugurating flights linking Perth and Auckland Airport (AKL/NZAA), marking a significant expansion of the airline’s western Australian hub

Flight QF65 departed Perth Airport at 13.51 on the 7th of December 2025, bound for Johannesburg, establishing the first direct connection between Western Australia and South Africa for Qantas. The aircraft for the inaugural flight was VH-EBP (MSN 1174)
