As you would have heard by now, on the 5th of January 2024, an Alaska Airlines 737-9 MAX suffered an inflight mid-cabin exit door plug separation. The FAA issued an emergency airworthiness directive grounding any aircraft with the same configuration pending inspection and any necessary maintenance.
The vast majority of Boeing 737 Max 9s are used in the USA and are operated by United Airlines and Alaska and are currently grounded.Turkish Airlines, Panama's Copa Airlines and Aeromexico have also grounded their jets of the same model for inspections.
