Bonza Airlines announces new base.

BONZA BOEING 737 MAX 8 VH-UJT (MSN 62533)

Bonza yesterday revealed its third base will be Gold Coast Airport (OOL/YBCG) with two aircraft confirmed to operate from the iconic holiday spot to 11 existing Bonza destinations:

The destinations are:
Albury
Bundaberg
Cairns
Gladstone
Mackay
Melbourne Avalon
Melbourne Tullamarine
Mildura
Rockhampton
Townsville
Whitsunday Coast.

Eight of the eleven routes are not served by any other airline.

This next phase of Bonza’s growth will see 70 new flights per week and almost 700,000 additional passenger seats a year into and out of Gold Coast Airport.

Bonza will operate two aircraft from Gold Coast Airport in time for the Australian summer holidays.
Flights will be on sale very soon, through the airline’s app, which is the only place to book direct. Starting fares will range from $49 to $79 per person one way.

The surprise announcement will also see the new airline initially ‘wet lease’ two aircraft, meaning another airline will operate the services under the Bonza brand for now.

As of yesterday, Bonza stopped flights from Sunshine Coast to Coffs Harbour, Sunshine Coast to Port Macquarie, Sunshine Coast to Tamworth, Cairns to Mackay and Toowoomba to Whitsunday Coast, while other routes will have services reduced by one flight per week on days with less demand.
