Air Asia X returns to the Gold Coast

This morning I got up early and drove an hour to the Gold Coast airport as Air Asia X's direct flights from Kuala Lumpur returned, more than 1,000 days after the service was stopped by the pandemic.
The first Air Asia X service, since early 2020, touched down on runway 14 at 9.38am this morning.
The airline will initially fly three services a week but increase to five per week by the end of the year.
