Light aircraft makes emergency landing at Melbourne dog park

A light aircraft has been forced to make an emergency landing at a dog park in Melbourne's east.
The park was full of dog walkers when the incident happened in Balwyn North at 5.30pm yesterday.
Witnesses have said they were shocked to see the plane miss the eastern freeway and safely land in Koonung Creek Reserve.

"I saw something and it came over my head, glided over and before I knew it, it had come over that hill," a witness told 9News.
The pilot wasn't injured, and the landing has been reported to the Australian Transport Safety Bureau, which is now investigating. It's unclear how long the plane will remain in the park, it may need to be pulled apart and towed.
