Unruly passeger causes flight to return

Scoot airlines flight seven travelling from Coolangatta Queensland (OOL / YBCG) to Singapore (SIN / WSSS) was forced to divert to Sydney (SYD / YSSY) after a man became unruly and had to be restrained yesterday.
The incident took place a couple of hours into the eight-hour flight from the Gold Coast.  Upon arrival at Sydney Airport, the plane was met by the Australian Federal Police and paramedics and the man was taken from the aircraft. The 787 Dreamliner was initially going to return to the Gold Coast but was diverted to Sydney instead, landing at around 4.30pm AEDT.

“The aforementioned passenger was disembarked and handed over to local law enforcement personnel upon landing. Scoot organised for passengers to be transferred to other flights out of Sydney. “To ensure affected customers can resume their journey without being unduly delayed, Scoot arranged for customers to be accommodated on either Scoot flight TR13 (departing 7.15pm local time) or Singapore Airlines’ flights SQ242 (departing 7.10pm local time) and SQ288 (departing 9.35pm local time) from Sydney back to Singapore.”
