Every year "Antarctic Flights.com"
(http://www.antarcticaflights.com.au) put on scenic flights from Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and Brisbane. This year Hobart gets one for the first time later in the year. Well as today was Brisbane's turn I headed out to the airport around 6.30am to get the early morning departure. The flight is around 14 hours long and as it got away right on 7.30am it should be back in Brisbane around 9.00pm tonight. Antarctic Flights organise the trips and charter Qantas 747's. Today's trip was operated by VH-OEJ, this aircraft was once fully painted in red and was called "Wunala Dreaming" it still has a special commemorative Kangaroo logo up near the cockpit. QF 2903 pushed back from gate 24 at the domestic terminal and taxied out for runway 19. After taking up 3/4's of the runway it got airborne at 7.45am.

A really good friend of mine who is definitely "Plane Crazy" has the number plates EK-A380 and today she held them up to the pilots as they taxied past us and we got a very friendly wave back.

I really love the Citation's, the Gulfstream's, the Falcon's and the Learjets; in fact bizjets in general so it is always nice to see one appear out of the blue, and that is what happened this morning.

Then as I was leaving I was told about some more business jets down on the logistics apron, so I called in on the way home. Really love the red Gulfstream.
