Two critical after helicopter crash - Uluru

A helicopter, a Robinson R44, carrying four people crashed at a remote site near Yulara, close to Uluru (Ayres Rock) in the Northern Territory. The crash happened just after 6.30pm while performing a sunset tour on Wednesday evening about 1.5 kilometres west of the popular tourist hub. The Royal Flying Doctor Service, who sent two aircraft from Alice Springs,  reported that two of the four patients were reported as critical. Medical and police officers were hampered getting to the scene given the remote location. No one was trapped and there were no fatalities. The helicopter pilot has been taken to Royal Adelaide Hospital with severe spinal injuries.
The Australian Transport Safety Bureau has been notified of the crash.
