After two jam packed busy days in Melbourne it was time to head home. My Qantas flight was at 5.15pm and boarding was at 4.50pm so I arrived at the airport around 4pm. I decided to give the club a miss and try my hand at some spotting before my flight. Unfortunately there was very little movement which surprised me for a Friday afternoon.

At 4.45 pm I headed to gate 9 where my Qantas flight 628 was leaving from; I could see our aircraft and I noticed the registration was VH-VXU (CN 33761). This is the third time I have been on VXU, both times in Feb this year and I sat in 9F and 11A.
We boarding at 4.48 and I took my seat which was 11A (again), and unlike the flight down where I had three seats to myself, this flight home was full. The last cabin door was closed at 5.13 and we pushed back at 5.14. We commenced taxiing at 5.17 and had a very little taxi distance as we were departing from runway 27. We taxied out and held short on Papa before lining up, we began rolling 27 and got airborne 5.22pm. After roughly 1,500 feet we banked right and set course for Brisbane. Climbing to 370 our track took us up over Wagga Wagga, Mudgee and on to Tamworth. At Tamworth we climbed to 390 and then turned slightly right and went inland to Casino.
Commencing our descent at 6.45pm we tracked to Russell Island flying abeam the airport and circling back, landing from the north on runway 19 at 7.16pm
