Today was the annual
Aviation Australia Aviation Expo (formerly known as the Aviation Careers Expo) held at Brisbane Airport, an event I look forward to all year.
Aviation Australia is a world class, registered training organisation, established by the Queensland State Government in 2001 to support the development and growth of aviation and aerospace industries in both the Australian and international markets.
They pride themselves in training excellence, offering courses in cabin crew, engineering and pilot training to aspiring individuals, looking to pursue a career in the aviation industry. For those already leading a successful career, Aviation Australia provides the opportunity to upskill or gain professional development, with a variety of short courses to further advance within the industry. As a result, Aviation Australia is a partner to over 60 airlines and aerospace companies, governments, defence forces and regulatory authorities, with over 1000 graduates working worldwide.
With my wife and kids in tow we arrived at the airport around 8.30 and grabbed a few early morning departures.

As the Expo was opening at 10am we left the viewing area around 9.30 and lined up with the rest of the crowd to get our wrist bands. The great thing about having the Expo at the airport is that we could still get photos of the internationals departing.
Knowing that a very special "rare" aircraft was arriving around 1.30pm and due to commitments later that afternoon and we decided to visit the aircraft static display first and if there was time we would visit the rest of the indoor exhibitions. Parked on the logistics apron; but outside the zoned off area for the Expo; was a QANTAS A330-303 still in the special livery for the Sydney Madri Gras and it got towed back to the international bay just as we got through the gate.

Unfortunately time got away from us and we had to leave for the turning circle to get a photo of a rare visitor in Brisbane. The visitor was a Boeing 787-8 in the colours of United Arab Emirates, what makes this even more exciting for me and my family is once we saw this aircraft we realized we saw this exact aircraft at Everett USA, the home of Boeing, back in December 2013 when it landed after its test flight before delivery.
