Cairns to Brisbane Flight

Well after 8 amazing days in Cairns with my family it was time to go home. Our flight was until 12.45pm but we checked out of the resort around 9am and headed to the airport for a while to do some last minute plane spotting; as I knew Silk Air was coming in and Philippine Airlines was due to go out.

Once Philippine departed we went over to the terminal to check in; and after clearing security we went up to the Qantas lounge to do some more plane spotting and waited for our flight.

At 12.15pm we made our way down to gate 18 where our B737-838 VH-VZS (CN 39358)  had arrived earlier from Brisbane. We began boarding at 12.22pm and we took our seats, 10A & B and 11A & B.

The doors were closed at 12.42 and we pushed back at 12.44, we began taxiing at 12.48pm.
We taxied out to runway 33, a runway I have never departed on before, and we had a rolling start getting airborne at 12.51. Taking off to the north we could see Trinity Beach, the suburb were we stayed for the 7 nights.
As we made our way up to our cruising altitude of 370 our track took us over Innisfail - Mission Beach, east of Townsville then inland passing over Proserpine, west of Rockhampton and down to Caboolture. Lunch was served on this flight and my eldest daughter and I had a chicken and leek pie, while my wife and younger daughter in 10A & B had a pizza slice.






















Apart from the very rare bump the flight was very smooth and comfortable.  We began our descent 2.21pm and after flying down passed the airport we turned and landed to the north on runway 01 at 2.46pm.
