It was 2 years ago today we woke to the sad horrific news another Malaysian aircraft had crashed.  Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 was a scheduled international passenger flight from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur and crashed on 17 July 2014 after being shot down, killing all 283 passengers and 15 crew on board. The aircraft lost contact about 50 klms (31 miles) from the Ukraine – Russia border and crashed near Torez in Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine.
Flight 17 was operated by a Boeing 777-2H6ER registration 9M-MRD (CN 28411) this was the 84th Boeing 777 produced, it first flew on 17 July 1997.
