Records broken as temperatures soar across Australia

The Australian summer is still at least 8 weeks away and yet yesterday Victoria and South Australia both set records for the hottest starts ever to October while in Sydney the temperature reached 37 degrees Celsius (98.6 degrees Fahrenheit) and 35 degrees Celsius (95 degrees Fahrenheit) where I live here in Brisbane, although the city only reached 30 degrees (86 degrees)

In Adelaide they recorded a temperature of 35.6 degrees, (96.08) matching its record for the hottest day in the first week of OctoberMelbourne recorded a temperature of 32.8 degrees (91.04) after Saturday had already broken records for the hottest start to October at 31.3 degrees (88.34). In Canberra it was the earliest date in October the city has been hotter than 30 degrees as It recorded 31.7 degrees (89.06)

Today temperatures will be around the same as yesterday or a few degrees cooler but by Wednesday the country should be back to its normal average temps. It looks like Australia will be in for another scorching hot summer come December 1
