Indonesian AirAsia X, Indonesia's new low cost carrier, has been announced as Sydney newest airline. The five-weekly Sydney-Bali (Denpasar) service will commence on 17th October, with the new service to be operated by an Airbus A330-300 aircraft. Indonesian AirAsia X (IATA XT; ICAO IDX) with the call sign "Red Phoenix" was founded late last year and commenced flying from Denpasar to Melbourne earlier this year. At the moment the airline operates a fleet of 2 A330-300 aircraft and has placed orders for 3 more.
