Yep another flight coming up; this time it is a short one. I left home at 6.30am for my 8 am flight and I must say the peak hour traffic; although heavy; was moving very well.
I arrived at the airport at just after 7; checked in and walked to gate 5 which is where this flight was leaving from. The aircraft was a Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 and the rego was VH-LQD
At 7.40 the boarding call was made and we had to board a bus because the aircraft was parked away from the terminal; at 7.59 we reached our aircraft and we all boarded very quickly.
The flight was only 40% full and even though my seat allocation was 4C (an aisle seat) I moved over to the window as there was no one around me at all.
We taxied at exactly 8.13 and became airborne at 8.19 from runway 19.
After making a long slow right hand turn over the city we headed for Maroochydore; where we turned left and flew directly to Rockhampton; climbing to flight level 200 (6,100 metres)
The flight was very smooth and comfortable; and we landed in Rockhampton on runway 15 at 9.18am
While I was waiting and during the bus trip I managed to get a few shots in along the way. Also on the journey up to Rockhampton; unfortunately the window on the plane was not the best for photos.
