Etihad goes dark on Brisbane

Etihad Airways is the flag carrier and the second-largest airline of the United Arab Emirates, after Emirates. Its head office is in Khalifa City, Abu Dhabi. Established by royal decree of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in July 2003, Etihad commenced operations in November 2003. The name derives from the Arabic word for "union"
The airline operates more than 1,000 flights per week to over 120 destinations in the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Asia, Australia and the Americas, with a fleet of 117 Airbus and Boeing aircraft. (Sourced from Wikipedia)

Today Etihad bought in their daily Airbus A330-243 service from Abu Dhabi via Singapore for the last time. The daily 9.50am arrival and 12.30pm departure changes to 5.50pm arrival and 9.35pm departure; not only are the times changing but so is the aircraft and the routing. This new flight is a direct service; so no stopping off in Singapore. From tomorrow Etihad brings in their new Boeing 787-9. As winter closes in Brisbane gets dark around 5.15pm so the new arrival times mean Etihad will arrive and depart in the dark. We will have to wait until summer to get a daylight shot of this aircraft.
Todays final flight as seen below goes to A6-EYL Airbus A330-243 (CN 0809); this aircraft is just over 8 years old as it was delivered to Etihad on the 31/01/2007 and its test registration was F-WWYB

I had to go out early to pick up a interstate company representative so I took the opportunity to get a few shots in while I was waiting.
