Bonza's Inaugural flight from OOL to TSV

A few months ago, Bonza announced they were going to start flying out of the Gold Coast airport, well today was the inaugural flight to Townsville.
BNZ1523 pushed back right on time at 9.00am (21.00 UTC) and taxied out for a runway 32 departure. At 9.13am, after waiting for a helicopter to overfly the field, and a mid-field departure, Bonza 1523 was given clear for take-off. After a quick one hour forty-four-minute flight, Bonza 1523 land in Townsville on runway 01 at 10.57am (00.57 UTC)

Bonza will operate two aircraft from Gold Coast Airport in time for summer holidays.
Eleven routes will operate to existing Bonza destinations as the airline focuses on depth of network.

Eight of the eleven routes are not served by any other airline.

New Bonza destinations from Gold Coast are:
  • Townsville: 15th November
  • Melbourne: 16th November
  • Mackay: 16th November
  • Albury: 20th November
  • Rockhampton: 20th November
  • Launceston: 21st November
  • Darwin: 1st December
  • Bundaberg: 4th December
  • Cairns: 4th December
  • Avalon: 5th December
  • Mount Isa: 5th December
  • Gladstone: 6th December

The airline says there will be additional and new destinations that will connect with the Gold Coast and those will be revealed when the time is right: “We’ll be adding new destinations to our route map that will fly from the Gold Coast and we continue to welcome conversations with airports around the country as we fulfil our mission to connect communities. Our focus continues to be on unserved and underserved markets that we know would benefit from low cost flights,” said Jordan.

To help with the new routes Bonza's owner, 777 Partners, have sent a Boeing 737 Max 8 to the Gold Coast from another airline they own in Canada called Flair. One of the 737 arrived four days ago and another is due within the next few weeks.
