Passenger kicked off Jetstar flight after lighting cigarette onboard

JETSTAR A320-232 VH-YXQ (MSN 5618)

A passenger on a Jetstar flight which was travelling from Melbourne (MEL/YMML) to Denpasar (DPS/WADD) was escorted off the flight by Federal Police after he decided to light a cigarette on board the plane.

One of the passengers filmed the man being escorted by police off the flight which occurred on Tuesday the 6th of September.
"This guy thinks a delayed flight means he can light a dart on the plane. No Bali vacay for you now," she wrote in the post

The incident comes after the flight had already been heavily delayed. The Jetstar A320-232 was due to depart Melbourne at 14.30 (local) and didn't depart until 18.58.

Because of the long delay in getting away, the aircraft had to divert to Darwin (DRW/YPDN) to refuel landing there at 22.40 (local). It the departed just under 30 mins later at 23.07 finally arriving at Denpasar 2 hours 20 mins later at 00.08 Bali time.
