Stolen float plane damages two more planes

This story is really hard to believe as it was only last Monday (17th) I was standing at Coal Harbour looking at these sea planes taking photos, and now I hear about a sea plane being stolen and damaging not only the stolen plane but two other planes as well.

DEVELOPING: Vancouver Police say someone stole a float plane. The right wing is completely missing on Seaair float plane de Havilland Canada DHC-2 MK. I Beaver . Harbour Air plane has damage to its right wing. Witnesses saw a man running away. He has not been located.
It appears the thief was able to start the aircraft, however, he was not able to get the aircraft airborne. While taxiing around the water in the dark, he struck two Harbour Air de Havilland Otters that were docked. Photos show one Harbour Air aircraft with a broken wing and what appears to be damage from a propeller to the rear of its fuselage.
“As with any crime in the City of Vancouver, police officers respond accordingly and we investigate thoroughly,” Cst. Tania Visintin with the VPD explained. It’s unclear how the person managed to get into the aircraft. Despite earlier suggestions the plane did fly for some time, Harbour Air has confirmed the aircraft did not leave the water.
“The safety and security of passengers is our priority,” Harbour Air said, adding it was working with police “to provide any support required during this investigation.” Meanwhile, some passengers on Seair flights will continue to be diverted to YVR until the afternoon.
No arrests have been made. The Transportation Safety Board, in the meantime, said it would not be investigating the incident since the plane didn’t actually fly. The TSB added that if it’s determined there was intent to fly that an investigation could be opened.
