Unruly passengers causes flight to turn back

An unruly passenger forced a Qantas flight travelling from Perth to London to turn back to Perth last night. The flight was two hours in when the captain made the decision to turn around after the man's allegedly disruptive behaviour. Australian Federal Police officers took a 32-year-old man off the flight when it landed back in Perth. Qantas flight 9, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, departed Perth from runway 03 on time at 11.00 UTC (7.00pm Perth time) then two hours later while abeam Canarvon it turned back to Perth landing once again on runway 03 at 14.33 UTC (10.33 pm Perth time)
The remaining passengers were all stuck in Perth for the night as the turnaround caused flight crew to go over their duty limits forcing Qantas to delay the flight a day. "This type of disruption inconveniences our customers, but we take a zero tolerance approach to disruptive behaviour on board," a Qantas spokesperson said. The customers were provided with accommodation for the night. The flight was scheduled to leave today at noon and the unruly passenger is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
