Back in February this year Air Canada unveiled a new twist on an old look for its planes showing off one of the airlines B787-8's. The airline has added black to its iconic red-and-white colour scheme.
Over the next 18 months all of the airline's 300 planes will soon resemble the Boeing 787s that were on display at the event. The tail, engines and undersides are black, but the red maple leaf icon will be on the fin. The new look of the planes were designed by international design firm Winkreative, headed by Canadian entrepreneur Tyler Brûlé.
It marks a return to the airline's look 24 years ago, when its maple leaf in a circle logo; the rondelle; was replaced with just a maple leaf.
Well today Air Canada brought in the new look 787 to Brisbane so my wife and I headed out to the airport early to catch the arrival and wait for the departure.

Not only did we see Air Canada in its new colour scheme but I finally got to see Malindo in Brisbane.

We also had the pleasure of two Qantas special liveries; one in the form of a Boeing 747 showing support the Australian Olympians in Reo de Janeiro back in 2016 and the other an Airbus A330 showing support for the 2017 Sydney Gay Mardi Gras

If that wasn't exciting enough my wife and I and 2 other spotters got completely drowned when the fire service were testing their pumps, they pointed their top nozzle just to the left of us and sprayed water out. But unfortunately the wind blew it all over us. At first we thought it was intentional as they were laughing at us, but about 10 minutes later a fire sergeant came out and apologised and said it was a complete accident.
