Brisbane to Alice Springs (Via Sydney)

Having a 6.30am flight I got up at 4.30am, I left home around 5.00 and the normal 30 minute traveling time to the airport took me 45mins. I drove into the airport and with only10 minutes to go before the check in closes I was in a panick. Having my flights details sent to my mobile and only having carry on luggage saved me as once I found a park and got inside the terminal I went straight to security and up to gate 18 to where my QANTAS flight 503 was waiting. I had only been there 10 minutes when we commenced boarding at 6.10 am.
The aircraft for this sector was a Boeing 737-838 and the rego was VH-VXE (CN 30899) We pushed back at 6.34 and started taxiing at 6.38, runway 19 was in use so we headed for an alpha 3 departure.

We  starting rolling at 6.42 and after a few left and rights we set course for Sydney climbing to flight level 380; the ride was very smooth and comfortable. We began our descent into Sydney at 7.30; looking at the famous Sydney Harbour Bridge and the city out of the window made for a pretty site, we landed on runway 16L at 8.00am.

When we pulled off the runway we were at the furthest point from the terminals, and it took us 13 minutes to taxi to gate 5 arriving there at 8.13

At 9.30am I wondered down to Gate 3 where another QANTAS 738 VH-VXD (CN 29552) was waiting, we began boarding at 9.40 and pushed back at 10.01. We began taxiing at 10.05 and we only had a very short taxi out to runway 16R. We became airborne at 10.10am and maintained runway heading for some time before banking right and headed for the Alice.

We climbed to 380 and again the flight was smooth and comfortable.
Alice Springs in the Northern Territory is 30 minutes behind the eastern states so I had to wind back my watch by 30 minutes. We began our descent into Alice at 11.50 (Alice Time) and landed on runway 12 at 12.18.
