Alice Springs to Brisbane (Via Sydney)

Well the very quick trip to Alice has come to an end and it was time to head back to the airport.
I was on Qantas 791 Alice to Sydney, I arrived at the airport around 12.30pm and after dropping my hire car back I headed through security and waited for our aircraft to arrive.
The aircraft for this sector was another B737-838 and the rego was VH-VXR (CN 33724), my seat was 6A.
We began boarding at 1.15pm and we taxied at 1.35. (All aircraft are on a stand off bay at Alice Springs)
We began rolling form runway 12 at 1.40 and maintained runway heading for a few miles before beginning a long slow yaw to the right and setting course for Sydney. Due to strong headwinds and turbulence at higher levels we only climbed to flight level 290 and apart from a few slight bumps now and again the flight was smooth and comfortable.
As we were flying along I noticed a huge hole in the ground and then not far from this one were three more.

We began our decent into Sydney at 4.22pm and, like we did on the Brisbane flight, we came in with the Sydney Harbour Bridge and City out to my left. This time the sun was in the right place and it made for far better photos.

We landed on 16R at 4.53pm and taxied to gate 5 without delay.
I had and hour and thirty to kill before my next flight and usually I would be like "awesome" but the sun was low in the late afternoon sky facing right at me; the other disappointing factor was, apart from two Qantas A380's, there were no internationals at the terminal and no international movements either.
My Brisbane flight was leaving from gate 8 so I hung around there until it was time to board.
This flight was another 737-838 VH-VYG (CN 33995) We began boarding QF 546 at 6.10pm for our 6.30 departure; we were all on board and seated and at 6.32 we were told by the captain due to heavy ground traffic around us we have to wait until 6.40. Then at 6.40 we were told we are now waiting for push back clearance from ATC; 6.42 we pushed back and 6.46 we began taxiing out for a runway 16L departure. At 6.55 we began to roll and we were airborne not long after that; banking left as we climbed out on our way to 390. We began our descent at 7.40pm and as we approached the Gold Coast we performed 1 six minute holding pattern then continued onto Brisbane, touching down on runway 19 at 8.16pm... Flight 28 for this year done and dusted.
