Philippine Airlines pulls out of Darwin

Philippine Airlines will pull out of Darwin in March 2018 but plans to continue its Brisbane-Manila route to a non-stop service. Darwin currently serves as a stopover on the Brisbane-Manila flights,  which run four times each week, but airline CEO James Batista has confirmed in an email that the Darwin-Manila services will be axed from March 24, 2018.  Batista cited "modest passenger loads" which "coupled with no yield, makes the service to Darwin economically unsustainable." The move comes as PAL shifts to direct flights between Brisbane and Manila on its new Airbus A321neo jets, which are expected to join the fleet from the end of March. "PAL will commence non-stop MNL-BNE services as soon as our A321neos are delivered and ready for operation.

Monday evening at Brisbane

Being so busy with work lately I haven't had a chance to do any spotting or post any stories. This afternoon, since I was at the office, I decided to head out to the airport for some late afternoon / evening spotting.
Apart from the Etihad and now daily double Emirates the aircraft I really wanted to see was this Fokker F28 MK 100 from MJet, which arrived a few days ago on delivery to Alliance Airlines. This aircraft arrived as OE-IIC (CN 11406) but I noticed it has been reregistered already, now showing VH-VIF
