DEERJET and the MARCHETTI

Every Friday afternoon we finish at 3.30pm so today, since I was on the Northside, I thought I would venture out to my second home and take some photos. When I got out there I noticed the Deerjet 737 had returned and was sitting on the logistics apron along with a Bombardier 700.

While I was there I was informed by my wife that a Siai Marchetti was on the ground at the moment. So I went looking and found it at the G A apron.

Happy 76th Birthday Air New Zealand

AIR NEW ZEALAND   ZK-OKC B777-219 (CN 34371)

Air New Zealand's story began on the 26th April 1940 when its forerunner airline, Tasman Empire Airways Limited (TEAL) was incorporated. TEAL began its first trans-Tasman services with flying boats, and over the years steadily expanded the size and scope of its operations and the extent of its international network. The route network was expanded from Australia and the Pacific to Asia, the USA, the UK and Europe. In October 1953 TEAL became jointly owned by the New Zealand and Australian Governments, and in April 1961 the New Zealand Government assumed full ownership.
In addition to TEAL operating international services, the New Zealand Government established NZ National Airways Corporation (NAC) in 1947. NAC was the primary operator of domestic air services between major centres and provincial cities and towns, and along with TEAL would later form the basis for today's Air New Zealand.
In April 1965 TEAL was renamed Air New Zealand Limited, and continued operating solely international services. 1965 also heralded the beginning of the jet era for Air New Zealand, with the arrival in July of the first DC-8 jet aircraft. The new jets meant that Air New Zealand could expand operations to North America and Asia, becoming a truly international airline. In 1973, Air New Zealand introduced the larger DC-10 to their fleet. The airline operated with a combined DC-8 and DC-10 fleet until the 1980s, when the larger Boeing 747 began to replace the older jets. The first 747 arrived on the 22nd May 1981 (ZK-NZV CN 22722). In July 2014 ANZ took delivery of their first of 6 B787-9 (ZK-NZE 34334)

ANZAC DAY 2016

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
LEST WE FORGET

Today being ANZAC Day I headed up to a place called Kangaroo Point to watch the RAAF FA 18 Super Hornets perform their annual flyby.  The first set of Hornets flew over the city at 10.05 am and then they returned an hour later on their way back to Amberley Air force Base at 11.05 am. The weather was really unsettled as it was clear when I arrived; it clouded over just as the Hornets over flew; not long after that it rained and then it fined up again... There were a few media helicopters as well as the Police helicopter doing circuits of the city.

Police to Interview Everyone on Prince's Flight

The Mirror is reporting that police investigators will be interviewing everyone who was on the private plane carrying the late pop star Prince that made an emergency landing at Quad City International Airport in Moline, Illinois in the early hours of April 15.

The report does not specifically identify the Carver County, Minnesota Sheriff’s Office, the local law enforcement agency in Chanhassen, Minnesota, where Prince died on April 21, as the investigating organization.
As Breitbart News reported previously, a private plane made an emergency landing at Quad City International Airport at 1:15 am on the morning of April 15, 2016 to secure medical treatment on the ground for a passenger who was described as unresponsive.
TMZ and multiple outlets are reporting that Prince was the unresponsive passenger.
Quad City International Airport Public Safety Director Jeff Patterson told Breitbart News the unresponsive passenger was taken from the airport by the Moline Fire Department to UnityPoint Health – Trinity Hospital in Moline.
The private plane departed from Quad City International Airport at 11:30 am that same day, according to Patterson.
The Mirror reported on the emerging details of the police investigation:
Everyone aboard the flight on which Prince allegedly suffered an overdose of painkillers days before his death is to be quizzed by police.
Investigators said they want to speak to the singer’s friends, staff and flight crew – as it was claimed he had needed emergency treatment for the same drug used by fierce rival Michael Jackson.
Sources say the 57-year-old took so many Percocet painkillers shortly after performing in Atlanta eight days ago that his condition became critical.
His team were so fearful for his safety they diverted the Gulfstream jet to Moline, Illinois to get urgent medical attention – despite being only 48 minutes from his home.
At the hospital the pop superstar was reportedly administered a “save shot” normally given in dire circumstances to overdose victims.
Doctors advised Prince would need to be monitored for 24 hours – but when his management failed to secure him a private room they discharged him.
When he left the hospital after just three hours he was described as “not doing well”.
Yet the 5ft 2ins singer made an appearance at a party in Minnesota the next day, assuring worried fans they should “wait a few days before you waste any prayers”.
A police source said: “We understand Prince suffered chronic pain after developing a hip problem. Naturally he took painkillers to ease his troubles but police are looking into if he was prescribed too many.”

The story continues on in great length and can be found here

Apologies Sent

Dear Readers

I want to apologies for the flaws in the recent blog; for the life of me I can't seem to fix the gaps.
It looks perfect in the draft mode and when I post it it shows many errors on the computer screen, like writing up the side of the photo or very large gaps.
Different errors show up on an iPad I see and even larger gaps show up when viewed on a mobile.
I do apologise as this is not the kind of work I want to present to you.
I will keep trying to rectify this issue.

Emirates United for Wildlife calls into Brisbane

Aviation geeks all over the world would agree with me that sometimes having an obsession with aviation can be a burden. Emirates has a few A380's in special liveries; like A6-EET with football players from AC Milan on the side (that came in yesterday)

EMIRATES A380-861A6-EET (CN 142)

and A6-EEQ with animals and United for Wildlife on the side. Well last night I found out EEQ was coming to Brisbane today and I have been waiting for sometime to see this aircraft. Since I had a business meeting at 8.30am, when Emirates departs, I had no choice but to get up at 4.30am and be at the airport before 6am for the arrival if I wanted to see it. I will admit I wasn't disappointed; as it look really good.

I stayed where I was for about another 30 mins to get a few more of the early morning arrivals and departures .

Then just to make the morning even more pleasurable there were two Hawaiian A330-200's sitting outside the Qantas hangers. Hawaiian calls into Brisbane 4 times a week but it comes in late at night; so we don't get to see Hawaiian during the day. While I was there they moved them both away from the hangers. BONUS.....

Following Emirates on Instagram I saw they have now painted A6-EER in the Emirates F A Cup theme so I am now waiting for that to arrive in Brisbane
