From December this year Emirates will begin flying its Airbus A380 between Dubai - Auckland - Dubai making this the world's longest flight for an Airbus A380; stealing the trophy from Qantas on their Sydney to Dallas service.
Emirates started flying this route in March this year using a long-range Boeing 777-200LR capable of handling the non-stop 17 hour 20 min, 14,192 km flight. (8819 Miles)  The inaugural flight was used by an A380 for added media appeal making Auckland the only airport outside Dubai to have four A380's on the ground at one time. A6-EON (CN 188) was the aircraft performing this flight.
The A380 will take over the route on a full-time basis from the 1st December.
