Brisbane to Sydney Flight

There was a little bit of excitement in the air this morning as my youngest daughter (which I call my Co-Pilot) and I were heading to Sydney for the night as tomorrow All Nippon Airways are coming to Sydney for the first time in 15 years and they were bringing in their 787 in the R2D2 colour scheme. I knew my Co-Pilot was excited as she was up and walking around at 4am. Our Virgin flight was leaving at 11.00am so we headed off to the airport around 9am. As we only had carry on we quickly grabbed our boarding passes and after clearing security we headed for the Virgin Australia Business Lounge. Our flight was leaving from gate 41, and our aircraft was an Embraer 190 rego VH-ZPA. We began boarding at 10.35 am; I was in 1F and my Co-Pilot was in 1D, which she thought was sooo cool because her favourite group was 1D. We pushed back at 11.06 am and taxied out for runway 01 at 11.11 am

We became airborne at 10.18 and made a long slow right hand bank flying back past the airport.

We climbed to flight level 360 and our track took us down over Inverell, south to Tamworth and then as we began our descent we made a few vectors, the smooth ride we were having very quickly became bumpy and uncomfortable. We began our descent at 1.11pm (we had to add an hour) and after overflying the city, the Bridge and the Opera House we landed on runway 34R at 1.33pm
