A few from my Office

I knew I was working from my office today so I made sure I had the camera in the car before I left home.
I was quite happy wondering out when I could to get photos then the buggers changed runways on me; but the below images are what I took this morning.

Sunday Night Movements

After spending the afternoon at a birthday party / BBQ  we thought since we were near the airport; and my wife and girls wanted to catch a look at the new Etihad 787-9; we would go over and I could try our hand at night photos again.
When we got to the top level car park at Brisbane Airport we had about 15 mins to go before the arrival of Etihad; so I jumped on radar to see where it was and it was then I discovered it wasn't a 787 tonight is was a 777. A little disappointing but we stayed and I took some night shots; which for my second attempt only wasn't to bad.

Early Morning Departures

As I was heading over the Gateway Bridge (Brisbane's main toll bridge) heading to my clients I heard Emirates 434 ask for push back. Having a bit of time up my sleeve I diverted to my favourite spot for when runway 19 is in use. Below are the few images I took while waiting for EK to depart.

Etihad goes dark on Brisbane

Etihad Airways is the flag carrier and the second-largest airline of the United Arab Emirates, after Emirates. Its head office is in Khalifa City, Abu Dhabi. Established by royal decree of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in July 2003, Etihad commenced operations in November 2003. The name derives from the Arabic word for "union"
The airline operates more than 1,000 flights per week to over 120 destinations in the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Asia, Australia and the Americas, with a fleet of 117 Airbus and Boeing aircraft. (Sourced from Wikipedia)

Today Etihad bought in their daily Airbus A330-243 service from Abu Dhabi via Singapore for the last time. The daily 9.50am arrival and 12.30pm departure changes to 5.50pm arrival and 9.35pm departure; not only are the times changing but so is the aircraft and the routing. This new flight is a direct service; so no stopping off in Singapore. From tomorrow Etihad brings in their new Boeing 787-9. As winter closes in Brisbane gets dark around 5.15pm so the new arrival times mean Etihad will arrive and depart in the dark. We will have to wait until summer to get a daylight shot of this aircraft.
Todays final flight as seen below goes to A6-EYL Airbus A330-243 (CN 0809); this aircraft is just over 8 years old as it was delivered to Etihad on the 31/01/2007 and its test registration was F-WWYB

I had to go out early to pick up a interstate company representative so I took the opportunity to get a few shots in while I was waiting.
