Melbourne to Brisbane Flight (July Trip)

Today being the last day in Melbourne for this trip I called into Macca's and got some breakfast and headed off to my favourite position to get a few of the early morning arrivals.

As I was at the office for the day I managed to get a few arrivals from there as well.

My Qantas flight was at 3.15pm and boarding was to be at 2.55pm so at 2pm I grabbed an Uber to take me to the airport. After clearing security I just went down to the gate as I wanted to see what else I could see before boarding.

I arrived at gate 3 at 2.40pm and I saw our aircraft sitting there waiting, this flight had just come in from Sydney. The aircraft for today was the usual B737-838 and the registration was VH-VXS (CN 33725)
We began boarding at 2.46pm and I took my seat which was 7A. The last cabin door was closed at 3.11 and we pushed back at 3.16. We began taxiing at 3.19 and headed for runway 34 for our departure.

We taxied straight out onto the runway for a rolling start, getting airborne at 3.26pm. After a short climb we banked right then set course for Brisbane. As we climbed to flight level 370 we made our way to Wagga Wagga; then onto Armidale. We continued on to Casino and then the Gold Coast where we banked slightly left and tracked towards Archerfield, we began our descent at 4.40pm. The flight was extremely smooth and comfortable all the way. Flying into Brisbane I noticed the extremely low cloud level which was very unusual, you could just make out the tops of the city buildings.


We landed on runway 01 10 minutes early at 5.15pm and as we did I noticed the Air Asia X that diverted to Brisbane last Tuesday due to a twin bird strike was still on the ground. (Story written up on Tuesday regarding this)
