Day four in Sydney

Today was my last day in this amazing hotel as I had to head back home to Brisbane this afternoon.
After yesterday's disastrous day of spotting in torrential rain, I was very pleased to see blue sky this morning. Staying at Rydges you get free access to the roof top if they aren't having a function, it was just after 6am so I knew I was fairly safe knowing there were no functions going on up there, so I headed up for a few hours..

Around 8.30 I went back to my room to drop off my things and I headed down stairs for breakfast.
I went back to my room and packed up all my gear as I was going to check out, leave my bags with the concierge and then head back up to the roof for a few hours. Unfortunately there was a function on so access was denied. I decided to go back to my room and continue spotting there for another hour.

Around 11am I checked out and went to the terminal; checked in and dropped off my suitcase and then found a window so I can continue spotting. My flight wasn't until 2pm so I  had a good 2 hours up my sleeve

1.40pm I headed to gate 10 were my Qantas flight 530 was waiting; we boarded at 1.53pm and I took my seat which was 10F; as usual the aircraft was a Boeing 737-838 VH-VXZ. We were told by the pilot there was a delay in starting due to a back log of departures. We pushed back at 2.22pm and began taxiing at 2.25. We were number 6 in the queue for departure.



We got airborne off runway 25 in Sydney at 2.47pm. We banked right and set course for Brisbane flying up over Newcastle; Armidale and Lismore. We began our descent at 3.33 and landed on runway 19 at 3.56pm, 26 mins behind schedule..
