JETGO starts Brisbane - Tamworth

Despite a few hiccups in recent weeks, Jetgo’s inaugural flight from Brisbane to Tamworth touched down at the city’s airport. Flight JG 62 VH-JTG (CN145687) departed Brisbane a little after 09.30 local time and landed at Tamworth Regional Airport about 50 minutes later at 11.20 local (10.20 Brisbane)
Flights to Tamworth, operated by a 36-seat Embraer E135, will initially run once a day on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays during March, departing Brisbane at 9.30 am and returning at midday.
Its three days a week service would move to double daily from April 6 when more check-in counters become available at Brisbane Airport.
A Sunday afternoon service was scheduled to begin on April 12 and Jetgo managing director for airlines Paul Bredereck said plans to add flights on Tuesdays and Thursdays from September could be brought forward if there was enough demand.
It’s the first time Tamworth has had an air-link to Queensland since Brindabella Airlines collapsed in 2013.
