RAAF EA-18G Growlers practicing for Riverfire 2025

Today, Brisbane celebrates the Riverfire event, an annual large-scale fireworks show held along the Brisbane River as part of the Brisbane Festival. Before the fireworks, Australian Defence Force pilots perform an air show over the river. On Thursday, a Boeing C-17 and a Leonardo Spartan C-27J did practice runs over the city and river. Yesterday, the RAAF brought in two Boeing EA-18G Growlers. Unfortunately, I couldn’t attend either day due to commitments. However, my wife and daughter went into the city yesterday on my behalf and my daughter took photos. It was her first time using my camera with the big lens to capture fast-moving aircraft up close. She did an amazing job, and I’m incredibly proud of the photos she took.
