A woman has died on a flight from Doha to Sydney, after being discovered unconscious halfway through the 14-hour trip.

The 60-year-old, travelling on flight QR908 from Doha to Sydney last Friday afternoon, was found in an unresponsive state approximately halfway through the 14-hour journey.

A spokesperson for NSW police confirmed the woman had died after they attended the scene at approximately 5pm on Friday.

On arrival, police found a 60-year-old woman deceased on the aircraft,” the spokesperson said.

“Police will prepare a report for the information of the Coroner.”

Separately, a spokesperson for Qatar Airways shared condolences to the woman’s family.

“Regrettably, the lady could not be revived,” the spokesperson said.

“Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.”

It is understood crew members thought she was asleep but when they could not get a response from her, they attempted to revive the passenger, performing CPR and using a defibrillator.
