The 737-8K2 with the registration PH-HSA is from the Dutch airline "Transavia" and will be here until a new B737 is delivered sometime mid January. This aircraft has been calling into Brisbane since the middle of November but due to commitments I have not been able to see this aircraft until today. Unfortunately the weather was "not" kind as it rained heavily just as the aircraft, with the Callsign "Air Van 21", was departing.

When we arrived at the airport they were using runway 19 and it was raining quite steadily; just as we stopped the car we heard an almighty roar and an A330 decided to perform a go around and said "they had a tail wind of 25 knots". The next arrival was a 737 and they too performed a go around also calling up saying they had a 20 knot tail wind. In the mean time an Air Niugini 767 had taxied past us for a runway 19 departure and was informed of a runway change. The 767 had to hold short of 19 and then when instructed; roll out onto runway 19 from alpha 1; taxi down to alpha 3 and exit then taxi all the way back down to the end for a runway 01 departure.
