Qantas retires another 747-400

QANTAS B747-438 VH-OJI (CN 24887)

A Boeing 747-438 with the registration VH-OJI (CN 24887) departed Sydney yesterday for the very last time bound for Victorville California, via Honolulu where it faces an uncertain future in storage.
Operating as QF6021 the jumbo took off from runway 34L in Sydney at 7:44am, arriving in Honolulu 8 hours 51 minutes later.
VH-OJI; (with the test registration N6009F) was delivered to Qantas in November 1990.
On the 22nd June OJI operated its last revenue flight as QF22 from Tokyo-Narita to Sydney, .
Its departure reduces the Qantas 747-400/-400ER fleet to eleven aircraft (six are GE-powered 747-400ERs and five are RR-powered 747-400s).
At the time of writing this (Sunday 28th June) OJI was still on the ground in Honolulu.
